Job Offer Hiring Events FAQs
CISA participates in one-stop hiring events, where qualified and eligible candidates can with recruiters and hiring teams, interview with hiring officials and receive a job offer as part of the event. We've gathered answers to questions about these types of events and what to expect if you attend. During COVID-19, many of our events transitioned to virtual, but we will also be resuming in-person hiring events in Fiscal Year 2024. For information on general recruitment and hiring at CISA, visit our Hiring Process FAQs page.
- How do I register for one of the CISA-hosted hiring events?
Each event has different requirements. Please follow the instructions listed on our hiring events page for that hiring event to register.
- What happens during virtual hiring events?
During our online events, candidates will have the opportunity to chat with recruiters and/or hiring officials for a pre-screening discussion. If a hiring official wishes to interview you further, s/he will schedule a secondary virtual interview session with you. Virtual interviews may be conducted using several video platforms or via conference call and will typically occur within a few days following the virtual event. You'll work with the hiring team to determine the best platform to use during the secondary interview. Please make sure to have your resume and all applicable employment eligibility documents available.
- What happens if I receive an offer during or immediately after the event?
CISA staff will assist you in beginning the pre-employment process. This process is completed virtually.
- Are there opportunities for student internships or recent graduates?
CISA’s internship and recent graduate announcements are posted on USAJOBS. Candidates interested in these opportunities must apply online through posted vacancy announcements. CISA typically posts internship and recent graduate opportunities twice per year in the spring and fall. Learn more about our programs tailored for students and recent graduates.
