Intent: Provide information about movements of vessels in a defined area of interest

AISAP is a web-based tool for acquiring, analyzing, and visualizing near-real-time and archival automatic identification system (AIS) data. It allows users to search for any/all vessels in an areas during a specific time range to discover time, speed over ground, direction, vessel draft, and other information.

Data Parameters

Inputs: Query USCG data via web-based tool
Outputs: Datasets are near real-time, can identify vessel movements up to 3 second intervals, and includes information like speed, heading, vessel type, MMSI number).  Provide information about movements of vessels in a defined area of interest: vessel id, characteristics, time stamp, location (long/lat), speed and course overground, heading.

Caveats

** Restricted Access ** Use with Inland Marine Transportation System (MTS) Travel Time Atlas; AISAP is available to all Federal users, as well as State and Local government officials, and other institutional users with a formal partnership agreement in place; To access the data, users must request a username and password from ERDC
