TOOL

Climate Hydrology Assessment Tool (CHAT)

Publicly Accessible

Description

Developer/Partners: USACE (2018)

Relevant Hazard/Threat(s): Flood and drought

Intent: Help develop repeatable analytics regarding climate model data including current and future inland hydrologic conditions

Tool enables user to conduct trend detection in annual peak flow and annual maximum monthly flow, and view climate-modeled projected annual maximum monthly flow range for a selected HUC-4 watershed.

Data Parameters

Inputs: Select HUC-4 watershed
Outputs: CHAT is designed to support a variety of uses related to inland hydrology, such as the development of flood risk registers or adaptation pathways. This tool allows users to analyze state-of-the-art hydrologic and climate model information, such as ranges and trends in climate-modeled annual maximum monthly streamflow at the watershed scale.  CHAT also generates visualizations suitable for use in report-generation.
