DHS is hosting a two-day in-person hiring event called the DHS Career Expo on June 27 and 28, 2024 to fill hundreds of mission critical positions across the Department. We are always seeking diverse, talented and highly motivated candidates. CISA is one of the participating components.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about DHS, DHS careers, meet with recruiters and hiring managers, and apply for career opportunities available in Business Operations/Mission Support, Cybersecurity, Emergency Management, Immigration Services, Information Technology, Law Enforcement, and more!

Suggested items to bring: 2 forms of identification (such as a passport and driver's license) if possible, any documentation related to reasonable accommodation/Schedule A status/veteran status, pen, water, and digital/physical copy of your resume.

Please note that ALL APPLICANTS MUST GO THROUGH SECURITY before getting into the event, so you may want to avoid bringing a bag to expedite your security screening. If possible, we also recommend not coming in the morning, as we anticipate the crowds and wait will be significant at that time.

Specific positions for this event:

IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC), GS-2210-11/12 – Arlington, VA

This CISA-wide position is ideal for mid-level candidates with at least 1 year of IT-related experience at the GS-9 level. This experience must include: attention to detail, customer service skills, oral communication ability, and problem-solving. In this position, you will recommend methods to monitor and measure risk, compliance and assurance efforts; conduct risk analysis, feasibility study, and/or trade-off analysis to develop and refine functional requirements and specifications; develop organizational cyber policy, programs and guidelines for implementation; and develop policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks and data.

In this position, you will oversee and manage development of methods to monitor and measure risk, compliance and assurance efforts; oversee risk analysis, feasibility study, and/or trade-off analysis to develop and refine functional requirements and specifications; oversee and define organizational cyber policy, programs and guidelines for implementation; and develop policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks and data.

Emergency Management Specialist, GS-0089-11/12/13– Arlington, VA

This role with our Integrated Operations Division is ideal for mid-level candidates with at least 1 year of emergency response experience at the GS-9 level. In this position, you will engage with and facilitate the incorporation of multiple partners in disaster response operations, prepare and present reports and briefings to government leaders and private sector partners, gather and analyze data from multiple sources, develop organizational documents such as standard operating procedures, checklists and training programs, and resolve typical issues concerning the application of any of CISA's enabling statutes, particularly those contained in the National Response Framework.

Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Classification), GS-0201-14 - Remote

This supervisory role is perfect for individuals with at least 1 year of experience at the GS-13 level in classification looking for a new challenge and a leadership position. In this position, you will independently review various classification actions and organizational design for compliance with organization policy; provide technical advice; plan studies to identify long and short-range staffing requirements; design department-wide trainings; advise staff and management on position management and classification programs impacting compensation, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act and NICE coding determinations, policies and programs; and manage special projects to include classification’s interrelationship with recruitment and labor relations.

Do you have experience developing, refining and executing an organization’s customer experience strategy to enhance customer engagement and loyalty? This role requires a strong customer experience and service background, cross-functional program management skills, impressive interpersonal and communication skills, and strong problem-solving abilities. In this role, you will design customer feedback surveys, analyze and present survey data, build relationships with customers, and make actionable recommendations to stakeholders to drive improvements in customer satisfaction.

Do you have at least 3 years of experience in systems, software, network, or security architecture? Do you have a strong understanding of the NIST Risk Management Framework, especially the authorization to operate process (as outlined in NIST Special Publication 800-37) and security controls from NIST Special Publication 800-53 and IAM 800-63? Are you an expert at working with multiple audiences spanning diverse technical domains, skillsets and backgrounds? Then this role is perfect for you! In this position, you will develop and support strategic risk management planning and network security architecture. 

Do you have experience in open-source security, Secure by Design methodologies, and software bill of materials? Then we’re looking for you!

We are looking for staff to help develop and drive the strategic vision for our Federal Partnerships team at the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC). These roles will build and strengthen relationships between CISA and other federal stakeholders, track trends and insights related to federal partnerships, and overseeing notification coordination efforts.

We are looking for mid-career and experienced candidates to join our Industry Partnerships Operational Coordination Team at the JCDC. In this role, you will lead engagements with JCDC members and non-members to glean insights into incidents, current events, reports, campaigns, or other priority activities. Members of the Industry Partnerships Operational Coordination Team will also coordinate with vendors, affected entities, knowledgeable companies, and other JCDC stakeholder sets to provide Tactics Techniques Procedures (TTPs), threat actor characteristics, indicators of compromise (IOCs), and anything shareable to the wider JCDC membership to understand and prevent any future exploitation.

Do you have experience working with diverse stakeholders in the federal government and tech industry? We’re looking for candidates with excellent communication skills and cybersecurity planning experience who can bridge that gap to develop plans to prioritize and address vulnerability management. On this team, you will prepare detailed reports on vulnerability management for leadership and stakeholders, develop and implement policies and procedures related to planning and partnerships, brief leadership, and oversee coordination responses to taskers, and requests for submission.
