Employee Vigilance Through the Power of Hello Translated into 12 Asian American and Pacific Islander Languages
Consistent with President Biden’s January 26, 2021 statement in the “Memorandum Condemning and Combating Racism, Xenophobia, and Intolerance Against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States,” CISA condemns the recent hateful attacks against the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in the United States. CISA translated the Employee Vigilance Through the Power of Hello Placemat into the 12 AAPI languages to better help these communities observe and evaluate suspicious behaviors, empower them to mitigate potential risk, and obtain help when necessary.
The Employee Vigilance through the Power of Hello raises public awareness about all aspects of suspicious behavior and describes potential suspicious activities that include external or terrorism-related issues as well as threats posed by insiders. The OHNO approach – Observe, Initiate a Hello, Navigate the Risk, and Obtain Help – to risk prevention relies on reasonable persons to make observations to properly detect and report terrorism or criminal-related suspicious behavior. The power is in the employee, citizen, patron, or any person who can observe and report.
