New Jersey Case Study
A law passed in 2007 helped lay the foundation for New Jersey’s current cybersecurity initiatives by consolidating IT services from across executive branch agencies into one agency. This case study observes how changes made since approximately 2015 to use governance mechanisms to help prioritize, plan, and make cross-enterprise decisions about cybersecurity. This study offers a unique perspective of the process as New Jersey is still in the process of developing and implementing its cross-ecosystem cybersecurity government.
