This resource explains denial-of-service (DoS) incidents and how to mitigate the risks associated with them. Building on existing guidance from CISA and DHS, this guide provides an overview for understanding DoS incidents and highlights considerations unique to the election infrastructure subsector. The guide is intended to help election officials think through how their systems may be impacted by DoS incidents, equip them to coordinate with service providers, and encourage them to incorporate DoS incidents into incident response planning.
