CISA is proud to offer Data Analysis.  We are excited to share this information with stakeholders across the federal enterprise and nationally.

In the rapidly shifting field of cybersecurity, the rise of sophisticated threats demands that professionals not only rely on automation and artificial intelligence advancements, but also sharpen their own analytical and investigative skills. This webinar provides IT and cybersecurity professionals with foundational data analysis techniques for rapid incident response. Participants will learn to identify indicators of attack (IoA) and indicators of compromise (IoCs) within log data, use IoCs to guide investigations, and understand attack vectors for mitigation strategies. Attendees will develop skills to formulate informed conclusions from network data and prioritize threats.

Learning Objectives

  • Outline the principles of data analysis for identifying cybersecurity incidents
  • Understand the concept of IoCs and their role in incident response
  • Identify common IoCs within various log data sources
  • Explore strategies to use IoCs for investigations, including identifying incident patterns and potential vulnerabilities
  • Explore techniques for analyzing network traffic to pinpoint suspicious activity
