The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Search Procedures Course introduces participants to basic, low risk search protocols. It provides participants the information needed to create a search plan for their facility or special event and allows them to preform IED searches of a facility, an area, and a route.

This one-day Instructor-Led Training (ILT) covers the following topics:

  • Preparing for a search
  • Types of searches
  • Facility search workshop
  • Area search workshop 
  • Route search workshop
  • Search assessment

Certifications & Accreditations

The Office for Bombing Prevention (OBP) is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) to award Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for this course: 0.7 CEU.
