The Protective Measures Course provides participants the foundational knowledge to identify risks and vulnerabilities to a facility, venue, or event and identify various types of protective measures to mitigate an Improvised Explosive Device threat. Participants apply concepts introduced throughout the course with hands-on activities. 

This one-day Instructor-Led Training (ILT) covers the following topics:

  • Overview of explosive effects
  • Identifying risk
  • Protective measures
  • Determining the appropriate protective measures
  • Special event and public gathering security

Certifications & Accreditations

The Office for Bombing Prevention (OBP) is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) to award Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for this course: 0.7 CEU.
