The Response to Suspicious Behaviors and Items for Bombing Prevention Course provides participants with a foundational introduction to recognizing and responding to suspicious behaviors and activities related to terrorist or criminal activities. This course highlights what to do when encountering and unattended or suspicious item and to whom to report it.

This one-hour Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) covers the following topics: 

  • Normal behavior and suspicious behavior indicators
  • Unattended and suspicious items
  • Appropriate responses to suspicious behaviors, unattended items, and suspicious items

Certifications & Accreditations

  • The Office for Bombing Prevention (OBP) is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) to award Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for this course: 0.1 CEU. 
  • This course is nationally certified by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) organization for in-service Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST).
  • OBP is a preferred provider for the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). This authorizes emergency managers (EM) to utilize this course toward the training requirements to maintain EM credentials. 
  • OBP is a preferred Continuing Professional Education (CPE) provider for the ASIS International. This course counts toward training requirements to maintain security certifications.
